Vintage Guatemalan, San Lucas Taliman handmade ceremonial huipil. Preowned in excellent condition. This is a vintage handmade item and slight variances or imperfections in the fabric, pattern, color, and weaving are part of the character and beauty of the fabric. I believe this is for a child.
Each side measures 31" W X 25" L when lying flat. Quality thick heavy ethnic fabric.
Detailed geomorphic Maya figures. Round neck with a 6" diameter, which is small and cannot be adjusted. The side seams are stiched closed creating armholeds. The arm openings are small, just 5" wide, but can be opened to be larger.
Each shoulder measures 14" from the edge of the neck opening to the edge of the shoulder. The total measurement across the shoulders and neck is 34".
The length is 24" + a 1" fringe on 1 side.
Color is a deep rich red / maroon. Amazing detail. Pattern is duplicated, front and back.
