Vintage Guatemalan Huipil Indigo Stripe Jaspe Colorful Embroidery
This vintage huipil has a lot of character. It has seen a lot of living but has many more years left in it. It has some visible mending and a couple of tiny holes in the Jaspe fabric that makes up the upper part of the back. There are 1” tucks in the upper part that might have been added later to make for a better fit. I think the tucks could be easily undone if one wanted to make it wider up top.
It measures 24 1/2” wide at hem, 23” armpit to armpit, 16 ” shoulder to shoulder, 27 1/8” long (back, neck to hem), neck opening is 18 1/2” around with a 4 1/2” slit, sleeve length 21 1/2” from shoulder seam to hem.
