    Description

    This is a
    traditional
Huipil from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the type of huipil made famous by Frida Kahlo.
This particular huipil has been Hand Embroidered and
    machine embroidered.
This huipil made of a Black color Satin and cotton lined
. The flowers are all hand embroidered and the geometric patterns are machine embroidered.
    I purchased this huipil along
    with
several others in a local market
while on my most recent trip to Oaxaca.
Take a look at my Ebay store for a larger selection of Tehuana Huipiles.
This lightweight weight cotton blend top measures; 23 inches across (total 46 inches around) and 24 inches Long.
This huipil will fit a Medium Size Woman.  But can easily be made larger (there are a couple of inches of extra fabric on the inside seams) or smaller by taking it in at the sides.
It is a wonderful example of contemporary fashion trends such as,
Frida Kahlo, Fiesta, Santa Fe, Hippie, Boho, Peasant, Gypsy, South Western, Cowgirl Style.
By purchasing clothing made in Mexico you are helping the
Mayan women support their families and save their cultural heritage and traditions.
